How to Delete Files from iCloud

Tracy here, a tech guru from Valadilene.org. Today, I’m here to guide you on how to delete files from your iCloud storage.

Understanding iCloud Storage

iCloud is essentially a cloud storage service provided by Apple that allows you to store documents, photos, music, and more, freeing up precious space on your device. However, if not managed properly, iCloud storage can quickly get filled up, necessitating the need to delete unwanted files.

How to Delete Files from iCloud

Step 1: Access iCloud Settings

On your iPhone or iPad, go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud. Tap on Manage Storage.

Step 2: Select the Files to Delete

In the iCloud storage list, select the app whose data you want to delete.

Step 3: Delete the Files

Tap on Delete Documents & Data. Confirm the action by tapping on Delete again in the prompt that appears.

Considerations When Deleting from iCloud

Before you take the plunge of deleting files from iCloud, be advised that once deleted, you cannot restore these files, unless you have backed them up elsewhere.

Managing Your iCloud Storage Effectively

Regularly deleting unnecessary files can help you manage your iCloud storage effectively. Also, consider using iCloud’s Optimize Storage feature, which automatically manages your storage by only keeping the most recent files on your device and the rest in iCloud.
