In your Word document, simply click and drag over the letter you want to add an accent to, highlighting it.

Step 2: Open the Insert tab

At the top of your Word window, click on the tab labelled Insert.

Step 3: Click on Symbol

In the toolbar that appears under the Insert tab, find and click the Symbol button.

Step 4: Choose More Symbols

A dropdown menu will appear when you click on Symbol. Click on More Symbols at the bottom of this menu.

Step 5: Find your accent

A new window will appear, showing all available symbols. Scroll through until you find the accent you want, select it, and hit Insert.

Using Keyboard Shortcuts

Alternatively, certain Word programs allow you to use keyboard shortcuts for specific accents. For instance, holding Control + `, followed by the letter e, will give you รจ. Every specific accent has a different combination.
