How to Remove a Border in Google Docs

Hi, I’m Tracy. One question I often get asked is how to remove a border in Google Docs. It’s actually a simple process, requiring just a few clicks. Here’s how to do it.

Navigate to the Border

First, open your Google Doc and find the section that contains the border you want to remove. Click somewhere within the bordered area to make sure it’s active.

Select the Table

In Google Docs, a border is typically part of a table. To remove the border, you first need to select the table. To do so, place your cursor anywhere within the table. When you do that, a small, square icon will appear in the top-left corner of the table. Click on this icon to select the whole table.

Removing the Border

Once you’ve selected the table, navigate to the menu bar at the top of the screen. Click on Table and from the dropdown menu, select Table properties. Here, you’ll find the Table border option with a color sidebar next to it. If there’s a color indicated in the sidebar, it means the border is active.

To remove the border, simply click on the sidebar and select 0 pt from the dropdown menu. Click OK to finalize your changes. Voila! Your border should now be removed.

I hope you found this simple how-to guide helpful and easy to follow. Google Docs is a robust tool, and I’m always here to help demystify any challenges you might encounter. Remember, tech doesn’t have to be intimidating, it can be approachable and user-friendly when you know where to find the right resources!
